bFLAT presents The Karina Colis Trio, a world/jazz project. They will perform Karina's own compositions and fusion arrangements, Latin American songs, and Jazz standards. The music is characterized by a diversity of rhythms and styles - with elements of Jazz, Afro-Cuban, Fusion and even a bit of Pop. Karina Colis, Camiel Jansen and Gabriel Geszti bring a repertoire of diverse stylish rhythms from different countries. The Early Set will be performed by local experimental funk, soul and jazz-rock trio, RiOT.

Karina Colis Trio performs with elements of Jazz, Afro-Cuban, Fusion and even a bit of Pop. Colis, of Mexican origin, is truly one of the world's most promising Latin American female musicians. Currently based in New York City, this drummer/percussionist is also an accomplished vocalist and composer, who has performed at prestigious venues like the Montreux Jazz Festival, WOMAD, The Lincoln Centre, NY and much more.

Karina Colis, Mexican drummer, percussionist and vocalist based in New York , graduated Summa Cum Laude in Berklee College of Music in 2006. Her musical work is characterized by a diversity of rhythms and styles, combining the roots of various Latin/South American traditions with elements of Jazz, Fusion and Pop.
Karina has performed with her project in Mexico, New York and India. Just recently many of her compositions have been featured in Raw Channel, a syndicated television series that began production in November of 2010. The show can currently be seen in the United States in over 73 broadcast affiliates in almost 80 million U.S. homes.
As a music educator, Karina has been faculty Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music in Chennai
in India for three semesters. And has participated in several workshops and at many colleges
and universities within the USA including "The Latin Culture Week" at the prestigious Berklee
College of Music.

CAMIEL JANSEN (Netherlands)
Camiel began making music at a very young age, playing classical piano from age 6. He started transcribing and playing works and was intrigued by the qualities of classical music. He studied at the Conservatory of Rotterdam, graduating Cum Laude in 2014, continuing a Masters program at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. During an exchange to Copenhagen in his bachelor, he discovered his affinity with composition, and wrote music for jazz quintet, pianotrio, choir and classical pieces for his string quartet. As a bass player, he’s very active in the Dutch jazz scene.

GABRIEL GESZTI (Brazil)
Starting at an early age of 9, Gabriel began his studies in classical piano and by age 17 he was working as a professional pianist in popular music & jazz.
Gabriel is a versatile pianist, composer and a dedicated piano technique teacher. Born in Rio de Janeiro, he completed a degree in Teaching from theFederal University of Rio de Janeiro. He trained under Aida Gnattali, Estela Caldi and Rafael Vernet over the course of his career.
