It’s the passion for music. It’s the love for music. It’s all about great music this evening. Nothing compares the best of classic. And if you are looking for some old school music, you gotta drop by. Let’s all time travel and become a little old school and together create a moment.

Go Solo about the Artist

Akhi Roti is a solo acoustic project of Akhilesh Kumar. As a younger musician, he wanted to share the stage with a bigger artist. He said it to himself that if he ever makes something of him in music, he would make sure to find new and undiscovered artists with great talent and give them a platform to play and be viewed on. His playlist has a lot of the oldies like Chuck berry's Johnny B Goode. Cold play’s fix you. GNR's sweet child of mine. A couple of tracks from his kiddie past like the Addams family and smelly cat.

Love for music #ArtistDiaries

The playlist of Akhi Roti is very retro old school classics like rock, rock n' roll, country and blues, the songs which anyone would know. He loves to play familiar songs because he feels that the crowd really gets into the show because it’s very familiar to them.

His influences vary quite a bit depending on the artists. But he’s very partial to the late 60's, early 90's artists. He feels that they've helped him grow not only as a songwriter but as a musician. He has 6 originals like Whickey holiday. Morning Song. Hopscotch man. Free. Magic. Move to the rhythm which is acoustic and we play all of them.

It was in his 3rd year of degree education he started the music. After his drummer graduated he said he wanted to do this professionally and Akhilesh jumped in! “Music has completely taken over my life now”, he adds.

If not a musician?

If not a musician, Akhilesh would have been in the air force as a combat pilot. Speed fascinates him and the machines there is epitome of speed, he says. “Just wanted to get in the seat and fly!”, he adds.
